The Meridian Collective accelerates large-scale energy transition by empowering subnational leaders around the world with the knowledge, technology, and financing they need to deliver real progress on the ground. We are building a unified, action-oriented platform where governments collaborate, innovate, and shape the future of clean energy delivery.
To position the Meridian Collective as the independent, multilateral institution that drives context-specific, high-impact, and equitable energy transition led by subnational governments across the world.
Climate commitments are negotiated at international tables, but their success depends on the actions of states, provinces, and regions that implement them. These subnational governments are responsible for deploying clean energy infrastructure, shaping industrial transformation, strengthening community resilience, and enabling just, people-centered transitions.
Across the world, they face shared challenges: high capital costs, fragmented delivery systems, uneven access to technology, and global partnerships that often operate far from on-the-ground realities.
The Meridian Collective—formally the Subnational Energy Action and Collaboration Hub—was created to bridge this gap. We are a global platform designed to bring subnational leaders together for structured learning, technology exchange, and coordinated finance advocacy. Our goal is to remove systemic barriers and enable governments to deliver fast, effective, and equitable energy transition outcomes.
We offer a dedicated space for governments to collaborate, co-develop scalable solutions, and elevate their priorities on the world stage. Our work is grounded in three pathways:
Knowledge Exchange that enables governments to learn from proven models and adapt them to local contexts.
Technology Access through shared frameworks that reduce risk and accelerate replication.
Finance Advocacy that unlocks larger, fairer, and more accessible investment for subnational climate action.
Through these efforts, the Meridian Collective strives to shift the energy transition from a top-down mandate to a locally driven movement empowering institutions closest to communities to lead the way.
Our aim goes beyond building capacity. We build systems that drive implementation by connecting governments with the right partners, models, and financing tools. Through collaborations with universities, civil society, and financial institutions, we ensure transition solutions are practical, scalable, and ready to replicate globally.
Through these efforts, the Meridian Collective advances a shift from top-down energy transitions mandates to locally led transitions, placing leadership in the hands of institutions closest to communities.
Main Project: Build a knowledge bank on renewable energy success stories from India, Indonesia, South Africa, and Brazil over the next 2–3 months, with emphasis on people-centered approaches.
